Dr. Wei is by far the best dentist I have ever seen. I have always had high anxiety regarding dentist visits and for this reason can be quite difficult to deal with as a patient. Many dentists ignore my anxiety and move on with the process at hand as though nothing is the matter, simply because they do not know how to deal with it. I have even had two dentists make insensitive remarks in response to my fear. Dr. Wei is the first dentist I have ever been to who was totally accepting of my anxiety. I expressed my concerns with him and from that moment on he has been Super Dentist! I trust Dr. Wei with my mouth completely, he always makes me feel comfortable with my procedures, always explains every step in detail and takes his time. He never acts like he is in a rush or irritated with my jumpiness. I never thought I could feel so at ease in a dentist's chair until I met Dr. Wei!!!

I am a nurse and I chose this profession because of my passion to provide optimum patient care. So needless to say, when the table is turned and I became the patient, I am the worst critic because I expect nothing but excellent care from my clinician. Dr. Wei has shown me that and much more.
First, I have suffered from periodontal disease for the last 15 years and have made numerous visits to the dentists for a rather uncomfortable procedure called deep scaling and root planing (also known as deep cleaning). This process takes about 45 minutes and requires getting numbed up, something I absolutely dislike. I pride myself in having a high pain threshold but the injectable anesthetic is just unbearable at times, even with the topical anesthetic. Dr. Wei is by far the only dentist who has made this process comfortable for me. I don’t know how but he gives the most gentle injections. It is over before I even know it!
Second, not only am I a nurse, but I am an oncology nurse who works with head and neck cancer patients so I see a lot of patients with mouth cancer. According to CDC, more than 30,000 new cases of mouth and pharynx cancer are diagnosed each year in the US. The ADA is trying to boost public awareness of oral cancer and screening is now a routine part of a dental examination. Dr. Wei is the only dentist who ever performed a comprehensive oral examination on my first visit and every visit after. Unfortunately, I can’t say that about my previous dentists.
And last, being in the healthcare field, I am always surrounded by healthcare professionals so I know a great provider when I see one. And Dr. Wei is indeed the best! He is passionate about dentistry and genuinely cares about his patients. Dr. Wei is an honest and true professional - at no time was I ever pushed into having any unnecessary procedures. He explains to me all my options in a clear, concise manner and then allows me to make my own decisions. It is simply refreshing to find a dental clinic with such high standards of work but also offers a very personal and caring environment. I have complete confidence in everything Dr. Wei does and have always been satisfied with my experience.

I want to take this time to thank you for being my dentist! As you know, it had been 9 years since my last visit with my previous dentist because I was always afraid of him (the pain and the financial aspect, really). When I was referred to you, we spoke about this right away and you reassured me that you would make my visit pleasant and as comfortable as possible, and that we had various payment plans available. I was so impressed by how you talked me through all the work that needed to be done, and explained everything while doing the work itself. Your helpful and warm staff also have made my visits very relaxing. When administering the shots, you have an amazingly delicate hand! I feel very little discomfort with the shots, and this is such a relief. Because you are a caring person, you seem to better understand the fears of us patients, and you work hard to make us comfortable! I know that I can call you at anytime and that you will be available to help me. These things are so important to both my health and mental health.

Dr. Wei is by far the most thorough, professional and caring dentist I’ve ever been to. I was referred to him through my wife and having lived in Poland and Australia, I can compare the quality of work on an international spectrum and I can truly say that Dr. Wei surpasses all on dentistry excellence. He is always on top of the latest technology which indicates his intention to not only utilize top quality-instruments but also to provide the utmost service to his patients. In addition, he is the first dentist who actually offers media entertainment for all his patients while you are in the ‘drill zone’, which calms your nerves and makes every visit quite enjoyable. Overall, his detailed approach and compassion makes him truly the best!

There isn't much more to say about the "Dr. Wei experience" that hasn't been said already. Dr. Wei and staff (Amanda) exceed all the standard requirements of what you want in a dental office and then some. Of course you get a friendly and courteous staff, accurate scheduling, (I never wait), clean office, state of the art technology (the needle vibrates to mitigate pain, watch a movie during dental procedures) and very reasonable pricing for the high quality of work.
But what makes Dr. Wei a great dentist, in addition to his precise craftsmanship and desire for perfection, is he is a great person. His demeanor and warm personality which can only come naturally, literally takes a way the entire anxiety of a dentist visit. You don't feel like you are visiting a dentist, you are visiting a friend that does dental work.
Additionally, despite his often full schedule, his attentiveness always makes me feel like I am his first and only patient on every visit. Examples:
- Knowing I needed extensive work and that I travel 30+ miles from work for each visit (worth the trip), he immediately calendared me in for multiple future visits and precisely calculated the procedures he'd perform each visit so to minimize my visits. Of course, each visit went according to plan.
- He knew I had a wedding to attend thus needed my cracked veneer replaced (cracked veneer was from a FORMER dentist), concerned that the veneer would not be shipped to his office in time, Dr. Wei went out of his way on his day off to pick up the veneer from the lab so that I would have it in time for the wedding! I am quite confident that none of my previous dentists would have even considered doing that.
Lastly, the customer service provided by the staff is First Class. As of the very first visit, they said that I would receive reimbursement from my dental insuarance within 2 weeks and though I forgot about them (I am skeptic with insurance companies), it was a pleasant surprise the checks arrived! The team is also very diligent with following up the very next day on any procedures performed to ensure I am comfortable. They never miss a beat.
As such, my search for a dedicated, punctual, reliable, flexible, honest, knowledgable, caring, pride in their work, quality, dentist has ended at Dr. Wei and team. Like others, I highly recommend Dr. Wei. If you are skeptical, just chat with him for yourself.

I was first referred to Dr. Wei through my friend Cheryl, who is actually Dr. Wei's wife's (Angela) friend. At the time, Dr. Wei had just opened his first office at Gramercy Park and I had not been to a dentist since I was in junior high school. I had just started my first full time job with dental benefits and was searching for a good dentist. Although Dr. Wei was a referral from a friend, I was still skeptical because of all the bad experiences I had had as a child. But to my surprise, Dr. Wei turned out to be THE BEST dentist; I will never have to look for another dentist again. He's very personable, caring, and is an expert in dentistry. When I first became his patient, I had 15 cavities, bad gums, and just overall horrible dental health. Dr. Wei was very polite and professional and offered me choices and a plan on how to go about fixing my teeth. I have lock jaw so it is hard for me to open my mouth wide for a long time, but my weekly appointments to fix all my cavities were never uncomfortable. To date, I am cavity free, my gums are well improved, I've completed Invisalign to straighten my teeth, and have whitened my teeth. Dr. Wei has made my smile beautiful -- just in time for my wedding! I've been his patient for 6 years and have referred everyone I know to him. My friends always call me to say how surprised they were that Dr. Wei turned out to be such a great dentist. When I meet my friends' friends we end up in conversations that go "You go to Dr. Wei too? Isn't he great!" Dr. Wei's become THE dentist. I always tell people don't take my word for it, just try him out and you'll see.

Here's the point-of-difference and what you can expect:

- A Cordial, Friendly Staff
- Apples, Tea and Coffee selections while you wait (if you even have to wait)...they are so professional and punctual
More importantly:
Dr. Wei is pleasant, gentle, and professional: he takes pride in his work and in his patient relationship building.
He takes the time to explain the critical areas of the procedure(s) he is performing so that you aren't kept in the dark, wondering what is going on...?
He is well immersed with modern dentistry, including his techniques and equipment...as a bonus, you are offered a warm spa-like facecloth at the close of your visit.
Lastly, I am very content with continuing to have Dr. Wei as my dentist (after walking away from several other Manhattan dentists who had failed to satisfy minimal requirements; ie: Basic Cleaning 101)!
I have referred him to several of my relatives and shall continue referring him to all in need of the best in dentistry!

Dr. Wei has been my dentist for 8 years. I see my life as a dental patient clearly divided into "before Dr. Wei" and "with Dr. Wei." I always hated going to dentists, maybe because I never had the great treatment I currently get from him. The qualities I value the most in a dentist/dental practice are knowledge, a delicate, but assuring touch, a calm demeanor, a welcoming and clean environment, and the latest instruments that make the least amount of scary noises and causes the least pain. Dr. Wei is always investing in his practice to offer the absolute best for his patients. I never thought I'd actually look forward to a dental appointment, but his whole team makes me feel at home.
And best of all, I now have a great smile :)

I've gone to more than 15 different dentist in my life thus far. I've had okay or horrible experiences with all of them and usually got the pain fixed and never returned to a dentist more than once.
My friend Tina recommended me to Dr. Wei. My first visit with Dr. Michael Wei was so thorough, comfortable, and pleasant that I actually went to him a second time and slowly but surley 2+ years later he is my only dentist.
He actually cares about the patient, me! He tells you what the problem is, tells you what he recommends and different options. You have a say in what gets done in your mouth. He has high tech, clean and sanitary equipment. His office does not smell like a dental office. Always has a DVD playing so you can choose to watch tv if you wanted. He's always taken his time and has never made me feel rushed. He and his staff schedule appointments accurately so that you are never waiting for your appointment, so you can go during a lunch break. I appreciate a person who can appreciate my time as well. He has the best staff who are kind, gentle, patient and not rude which is hard to find in NYC.
The best thing on top of all the above is he is a master at what he does: I had a tooth pulled out and took 2 Advil's and never had swelling. People were amazed that I even had a dental procedure done.
I recommended him to all my friends and co-workers who now go to him as well. He is the dentist I would consider a family friend. His work is precise and he is really great at what he does.

As an actor, my outward appearance is very important to my business. I needed a great deal of treatment as I had not seen a dentist in many, many years.
